Under the leadership of President Klopp and the Taylor Fire Department a meeting was called this date at 8 P.M. in the Firemens Quarters with the object of organizing a Central Texas District. The meeting was opened by T.W. Falkenberg who called on Klopp to outline the purpose of the gathering. Frederick Klopp after expressing his desire of organizing such Association moved that a temporary chairman and secretary be elected. T.W. Falkenberg being Chairman and J.F. Mikolaj Secretary.

Upon taking the chair T.W. Falkenberg of Taylor expressed his desire to organize this District, to which Chief Hamner of Belton also gave his support.

At this time the Roll Call of the Delegation present revealed the following.

• Georgetown. Chief Harris, E.M. Witteberk, L.L. Anderson, J.P. Longino.
• Lampasas. Lee Baker, Leo Bales.

• Cameron. Emory Camp, Frank Richter, Jerry Mikula, John Eanes, Jack Henderson.

Discussion being made to organize the Association, the name came up for discussion. Motion by Lee Baker of Lampasas, seconded by Roy Frazier of Elgin and passed, that the name be The Central Texas District Volunteer Firemen's Association.

Chairman Falkenberg read the constitution and bylaws of the Guadalupe Firemens Assn as an aid in our efforts to organize.

Article no. 2. Purpose of organization. A motion by Chief D.B. Bartlett, seconded by Stewart of Thorndale and passed that the article be adopted as read.

Article 3. Membership. Motion by Klopp of Taylor, seconded by Hudson of Belton that the names of Counties be omitted until a later date. Motion carried.

As to membership Active and Honorary of the same article; Joseph of Taylor recommended that a committee be appointed to adjust bylaws to suit our particular needs and present them at the next meeting for approval. Klopp of Taylor wished to incorporate in Joseph's motion that the committee cover all of article Three for further detail. Camp of Cameron in a substitute motion expressed his desire for this committee to be instructed to write or draft bylaws and present for approval at the next meeting of the organization. Klopp withdrew his motion and Camp's motion seconded by Joseph of Taylor was passed.

Next in order was the election of officers for the first year.

T.W. Falkenberg of Taylor was nominated for President by Chief Hamner of Belton, seconded by Klopp of Taylor. Further nominations were closed by Hudson of Belton, seconded by Camp of Cameron and Falkenberg was elected by acclamation.

Chief Fr. Hamner of Belton was nominated for 1st Vice President by Chief Dellinger of Taylor, seconded by Joseph of Taylor. Nominations closed by Klopp of Taylor, seconded by Chief Bartlett of Bartlett and Hamner elected by acclamation.

Emory Camp of Cameron was nominated for second Vice President by Klopp of Taylor, seconded by Richter of Cameron. Nominations closed by Joseph of Taylor, seconded by Hudson of Belton and Camp elected by acclamation.

Joe F. Mikolaj of Taylor was nominated for Secretary and Treasurer by Richter of Cameron, seconded by Chief Bartlett of Bartlett. Nominations closed by Savage of Belton, seconded by Hudson of Belton and Mikolaj elected by acclamation.

Rev. W.A. Reimann of Lampasas was nominated for Chaplain by Lee Bales of Lampasas. Nominations closed by Hudson of Belton, seconded by O.E. Anderson of Taylor and Rev. Reimann elected by acclamation.

All the newly elected officers gave their thanks for the honor and expressed their desire to push forward.

A decision was made for the executive committee to draw up the bylaws and present them at the next meeting, which is to be held not later than November. It was also agreed to meet quarterly for at least one year; dates to be set by said committee.

Upon invitation by Camp and delegation from Cameron a motion was made by Chief Bartlett of Bartlett, seconded by Brunner of Taylor that the next meeting be held in Cameron Texas. Motion carried.

Chief Hamner of Belton asked that some action be taken on the dues for the association.

Motion by Klopp of Taylor, seconded by Towler of Summerville and passed that the sum of $5.00 annually be levied on each department wishing to become members of said organization.

No further business appearing Klopp of Taylor motioned to adjourn, seconded by Camp of Cameron and carried.

After the meeting a lunch and refreshments were enjoyed by all attending.
